I am back from a week in Las Vegas at the International Bowl Expo and it was quite an experience. Most of Bowl Expo is networking, schmoozing, and meeting fans but there were a few moments that I will never forget.
Going to my first Storm Cocktail party on tuesday night and meeting the entire Storm Family made me feel at home immediately. The venue was the Chateau nightclub at the Paris Las Vegas. The views of the strip and the Bellagio fountain were amazing and it’s clear that Storm knows how to throw a party!
The next morning was the most memorable part of the week. During the BPAA general session, which kicks off Bowl Expo, current Team USA members were to be recognized. We gathered back stage where we were introduced to one of the most powerful women in the world who was also the keynote speaker of the event, the CEO & Chairman of Pepsico, Indra Nooyi. She was very inviting and willing to chat bowling for a few moments before Team USA was brought out.
As BPAA President Steve Johnson introduced each one of us we walked out on to stage and honestly I expected a small applause but when the entire session gave us a rather long standing ovation it certainly made me and the rest of the team feel great appreciation. I found out earlier that I will be part of the team that will represent the USA at the World Championships this August and I am anxious to bring home some gold hardware!
The two days of Bowl Expo were a lot of fun meeting fans and broadcasting live on InsideBowling.com with Mike Flanagan & Randy Pedersen. Seeing how amazing the Storm booth was made me feel pride to be part of such a great team.
The day following Bowl Expo I sat in on my first USBC Board of Directors meeting. I am joining the board starting August 1st and look forward to helping the sport move in the right direction. It was great to see a room full of passionate people that love the sport of bowling as much as I do.
I look forward to a very busy summer, the next big event on my agenda is the U.S. Open at the end of July. I will be practicing and working hard in lieu of this event. I am looking to make another run at a major!
Thanks for reading!

July 1st, 2013Sorry we didn’t get to meet at Bowl Expo. I was hoping to have you drop by GoBowlNow.com. Should have sent a message with PDW or Norm.
Your take on Bowl Expo was on the mark.
All the very best with your new position at USBC. Your ideas are fresh and fact based. The industry needs a great deal more of this type of thinking.
All the very best with your bowling. You will be a welcome ambassador for Team USA and bowling. Thank you for all you are doing.
